Jalen Hurts winning shoes are up for sale. The bid? $7500. Dear Reader, this is crazy. It makes me think; what do material items mean?
Our society has chosen to give meaning to everything. A pair of cleats become valuable because we decide they are.
Items and events only matter because we decide they do. I’ve always been curious as to why we do the things we do, we just don’t have a choice. Why must we sit in a chair with four legs? What if we lived in a society where all chairs only had three legs, would let’s say our posture change? All I’m trying to say is we don’t have a choice in design. We are powerless in our choices.
A lot of our choices have been made for us.
Worst part is: you think you have choices but you don’t because choices are already set for you! My boyfriend always uses this example of customizing food items at a place like McDonalds.
